Klondike Solitaire is the most widely played solitaire game in the world. Seven tableau columns are laid out with increasing numbers of face-down cards and one face-up card on top.
The goal is to build four foundation piles, one for each suit, from Ace to King. You can move cards between tableau columns in descending order and alternating colors. Only Kings can be placed in empty tableau columns.
The strategy involves deciding when to draw from the stock pile versus moving cards within the tableau. Revealing face-down cards is usually a priority, but sometimes it's better to build on a foundation pile to free up space.
Our RetroPlayNow version features a full 52-card deck, a three-card draw pile, and a scoring system that rewards efficient play. Every card placed on a foundation earns Retro Coins.
How to play Klondike Solitaire
- Build foundations. Build four foundation piles from Ace to King, one for each suit.
- Move tableau cards. Move cards between tableau columns in descending order and alternating colors.
- Draw from stock. Draw three cards from the stock pile when no tableau moves are available.
- Fill empty columns. Only Kings can be placed in empty tableau columns.
- Earn Retro Coins. Score points by placing cards on foundations. More points mean more Retro Coins.
