How to play Mahjong Solitaire
- Find free tiles. A tile is free when its left or right side is empty (no neighbor). Only free tiles can be selected — they glow on hover.
- Match identical pairs. Tap a free tile, then tap another free tile with the same symbol. Identical pair disappears.
- Clear the board. Remove all 32 tiles by matching pairs. If no pairs are left but tiles remain, use Shuffle.
- Use hints and shuffles. Hint flashes a valid pair for 1 second. Shuffle reshuffles remaining tiles. Both add a small time penalty.
- Win faster for more points. Finish quickly with fewer hints/shuffles for a higher score and more Retro Coins. Best time is saved.

What makes a tile free?
A tile is free when at least one horizontal neighbor (left or right) is empty or out of bounds. Only free tiles can be selected.
What if no moves are left?
Tap Shuffle to reshuffle the remaining tiles into new positions. You can also use Hint to see a valid pair.
How is the score calculated?
Base 6,000 minus time (seconds×2) and shuffles/hints (×100), plus 500 clean bonus if you finish without shuffle. Best is saved.
