Star Blaster is a vertical space shooter built in the tradition of the great arcade classics: a lone fighter, a sky full of enemies, and a trigger finger that never rests. Your ship sits at the bottom of the screen, your lasers fire automatically, and your only jobs are to move, dodge and survive.
The enemies descend in waves from the top of the screen, weaving side to side as they close in. Every ship you destroy adds 10 points to your score, and clearing a full wave pays a 50-point bonus. The waves come faster and the formations get tighter the longer you last.
Your fighter has 3 lives. An enemy that reaches you, or a wave that slips past your defenses, costs one. When the third life is gone, the run is over and your score is submitted to the RetroPlayNow leaderboard.
This RetroPlayNow version keeps the controls simple enough for anyone: move with the arrow keys or A/D on desktop, or drag your finger anywhere on the board on mobile. Lasers fire automatically, so you can focus on positioning — the classic skill of the genre.

How to play Star Blaster
- Move your fighter. Use the left and right arrow keys (or A/D) to slide your ship along the bottom of the screen. On mobile, drag your finger anywhere on the game area.
- Lasers fire automatically. Your ship fires a laser every moment you are in the battle, so focus on positioning rather than button mashing.
- Destroy the enemy waves. Every alien ship you hit is worth 10 points. Clear a full wave to earn a 50-point wave bonus.
- Dodge the descent. Enemies weave downward and will collide with your ship. You have 3 lives; an enemy that reaches you costs one.
- Earn Retro Coins. When your last life is lost, your score is submitted automatically. The platform converts 100 points into 1 Retro Coin.
