Breakout 2 is the brick-breaking sequel that adds power-ups and variety to the classic formula. Control a paddle at the bottom of the screen, bouncing a ball upward to destroy all the bricks above.
What makes Breakout 2 special are the power-ups. When you destroy certain bricks, power-ups fall from above. Catch them with your paddle to gain abilities: multi-ball releases extra balls, wide paddle expands your paddle, laser lets you shoot bricks, and catch lets you trap the ball on your paddle.
Each level has a different brick arrangement and color pattern. Some bricks take multiple hits to destroy. Some are indestructible and must be worked around. The ball speeds up as fewer bricks remain.
Our RetroPlayNow version features smooth physics, satisfying brick-breaking action, and a variety of power-ups. Every brick destroyed earns Retro Coins.
How to play Breakout 2
- Move the paddle. Move your paddle left and right to bounce the ball back upward.
- Destroy all bricks. Bounce the ball into bricks to destroy them. Clear all bricks to advance.
- Catch power-ups. Some bricks release power-ups when destroyed. Catch them with your paddle for special abilities.
- Don't drop the ball. If the ball falls past your paddle, you lose a life. Keep it in play.
- Earn Retro Coins. Score points by destroying bricks. More points mean more Retro Coins.
